Was a huge, huge honour on Tuesday night to pick up the LATA Latin American Travel Writer of the Year award in the blog/online category for my feature on Choquequirao for Adventure.com!
Thanks of course to the judges and the guys at LATA for putting together such a fabulous night – especially liked the alfajores canapés – but also thank you to my editor at Adventure.com, Meera Dattani, for believing in the idea for the idea. In the current climate it is often tough to get editors to believe in unusual takes on destinations, so it is much appreciated that Adventure.com did!
When I think back to how hard the trek to Choquequirao was to complete in just two days, and how I came close to collapsing from dehydration at one point, it certainly makes the effort worthwhile to have it recognised in this way 🙂
